Reverse Osmosis Technology
A reverse osmosis water filtration system, or RO for short, includes multiple filters that remove sediment, minerals, fluoride, and chlorine. This system is usually for drinking water. The installer will affix a dedicated RO faucet somewhere in your home, like at your kitchen sink.
Reverse osmosis technology is beneficial if you live in an area with a high mineral concentration in your water. Hard water is a concern for your health, but it can also negatively affect your appliances. Mineral buildup in your washing machine, dishwasher, or hot water tank can lead to an influx of repairs. Have you ever noticed water spots on your dishes when they come out of the dishwasher? That’s caused by hard water.
Many people find that RO water has a very clean taste. There’s a distinct difference between RO water and tap water. By ditching the cases of plastic water bottles that you’re buying each week and opting for a reusable bottle that you fill at your RO faucet, you’re reducing your carbon footprint and saving money.
